1. Core Business Identity

Entity: PublicLayer Inc.

Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

What We Do: PublicLayer is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that enables organizations to transform internal project data into customer-facing public roadmaps. The service utilizes proprietary AI "Public Tone" logic to scrub sensitive internal details (PII) and rewrite technical specifications into high-level narratives for public stakeholders.

2. Account Management & Access

Authentication

Access is provided via Email and Single Sign-On (SSO) providers (e.g., Google, Atlassian). Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their third-party credentials.

Subscription Model

Currently, the Service is offered on a Free Tier basis. PublicLayer Inc. reserves the right to introduce paid subscription tiers or usage-based fees in the future upon reasonable notice.

Multi-Tenancy Guard

Users are strictly prohibited from attempting to access data belonging to other "Organizations" or bypassing the platform's row-level security (RLS) protocols.

3. Prohibited Behavior (The "No-Go" Zone)

To protect the integrity of the PublicLayer ecosystem, users may not:

Security Breaching

Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our multi-tenant architecture.

Scraping

Using automated systems to extract data from public portals of other organizations.

Bypassing Rewrites

Intentionally using the platform to leak PII or confidential technical debt.

Reverse Engineering

Attempting to copy or determine the underlying logic of the AI rewriting.

Misrepresentation

Creating fraudulent roadmaps or impersonating other organizations.

4. Liability & Disclaimers

Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, PublicLayer Inc.’s total liability for any claim shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the user in the preceding 12 months, or $100 CAD (whichever is greater).

No Consequential Damages: We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or any indirect or "consequential" damages resulting from the use of the app.

AI Accuracy Disclaimer: Users acknowledge that "Public Tone" content is generated by AI. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy in PII scrubbing. Final review is the sole responsibility of the User.

5. Technical & Data Handling

  • Platform: Available via web and mobile web applications.
  • Data Hosting: We store structured roadmap data and metadata. We do not host raw user files (e.g., PDFs) at this time.
